Christian
Science was founded in 1879 by Mary Eddy Baker in Lynn Massachusetts. Christian
Science has always been seen as a small religious group and according to census
taken that stands to be true. In 1936 a census was taken accounting for 270,000
active Christian Science members in the United States. Following up in 2010 the
census was taken again displaying a decline in members to less than 100,000
worldwide. However despite the small population of Christian Science members the religion is still active. The mother church,
The First Church of Christ, Scientist, is located in Boston and stands as a representation of the ideal Christian Science church for other branches of in 70 different countries.
